Bahçeşehir University was established in the late 20th century, in 1998. The university raced against the time and was able to be ranked among the 50 top Turkish Universities, in addition to its distinguished position among international universities. This great progress achieved by the university during this short period returns to the huge teaching staff and their higher certificates, not to mention the use of the latest educational curricula and modern technologies.
The University is renowned for having a very big library containing about 250 thousands books and pamphlets, and is characterized by its good location in the middle European part of Istanbul, making it easier to move to and from it.
Bahçeşehir University also has many branches outside Turkey in Berlin, Toronto, Silicon Valley, Italy, North Cyprus and China. Additionally, the University also has partnerships with a number of major European universities such as the Technical University of Berlin, New York, Harvard and others, as well as its membership with Erasmus Student Exchange Group.
It consists of 9 colleges, 4 institutes for Graduate school, 2 schools, 2 vocational schools and a number of practical research centers. There is a number of departments such as Medicine, Dentistry, Biomedical Engineering, Energy System Engineering, Nutrition and Dietetics, Audiology, European Union Relations, Logistics Management and many others.
